Locky Gilbert’s ex Brooke Jowett slams The Challenge Australia and says she

knew it ‘wasn’t her vibe’ despite signing up for the show

Australian Survivor star Brooke Jowett has slammed Channel 10’s disastrous reality series The Challenge.

The 30-year-old fitness professional says she now regrets appearing on the local version of the show, which debuted last year to appalling ratings.

Based on a U.S. format, The Challenge sees former reality TV stars compete in a series of elimination games.

‘From the second day I knew it wasn’t my vibe,’ Brooke said in an interview with Yahoo! on Wednesday.

‘I definitely love the competitive side of reality TV. I love the challenges and I love testing myself physically, but the drama I don’t enjoy at all.’

Brooke told the publication she ‘hated confrontation’ and did not like upsetting anyone.

She added that while the show was filming she ‘hid in her room’, because she did not know how to handle the drama.

In the end, Brooke finished second in the show’s finale, missing out on the $100,000 top prize.

‘To me, when I think of my TV history, I was just on Survivor,’ she said.

‘I feel like Survivor really shaped me as a person and I grew a lot and I got a lot out of it, so if I was to do anything again it would be something like Survivor, or Survivor – third time lucky let’s hope!’

The Challenge became officially the biggest failure in the history of Australian reality TV last December when the finale screened to a mere 11,000 viewers.

The numbers were so low that The Challenge actually recorded ‘zero’ in Brisbane, according to David Knox of industry website TV Tonight

Meanwhile, Brooke has announced she is expecting her first child with fiancé Chris Cavanagh.

The dark haired beauty took to Instagram in March to announce the happy news, years after her controversial break-up with Locky Gilbert.

The pair began dating after Brooke was infamously dumped by Locky Gilbert after they appeared on Australia Survivor: All Stars in 2019.

Locky had apparently given her the impression they would be a couple after the show, but ghosted her and was confirmed as the Bachelor weeks later.
